Beans Means Burgers!

Today I felt like nice tasty kidney bean burgers. They are so easy to make and a very good vegetarian option.

Serves 12 patties:


  • 2 cans of kidney beans
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp coconut flour
  • 1 tbsp milled linseed
  • 2 tbsp bread crumbs
  • 1 OXO cube
  • 2 shallots finely chopped


Mix the beans with the other ingredients, I used a stick blender which pureed most of the beans which will leave some of the beans intact for texture.

Leave it rest for 15 minutes (this allows the coconut flour to absorb some of the liquid).

After 15 mins divide the mixture into patties and fry them on a moderate heat till golden.

I served these with some plain boiled potatoes and a fresh coleslaw.
